“Fan S. Noli” University of Korça was established on the basis of the Higher Agricultural Institute, which functioned as such from 1971-1992.

  The University of Korça began its academic activity in January 1992, in 1994 it was given the name “Fan S. Noli”. Today, UNIKO has 4 faculties and offers university degrees in 58 study programs , as well as 2-year professional programs . The University of Korça is the main center of higher education in the region, offering numerous study opportunities which include fields such as: education and philology, economics, natural and human sciences, medical sciences, information technology, etc. In the academic year 2014-2015, the President of the Republic of Albania honored the University of Korça with the title “Honour of the Nation”.

  UNIKO has active cooperation agreements with over 120 educational and non-educational institutions, domestically and abroad. Since 2018, UNIKO is a full member of the Association of Balkan Universities (ABU), as well as the University Association of Francophonie (UAF).

  “Fan S. Noli” University of Korça has successfully passed the stage of institutional accreditation by the British Accreditation Agency (QAA) and the Higher Education Quality Assurance Agency (ASCAL) and is working hard for maximum evaluations even in the process of accreditation of study programs.
